Choose the Record Custodian

Immediate jail status, release processing, booking details, and bond questions belong with the Gonzales County Jail. The Sheriff does not publish an online roster, so the jail information line is the direct route for a named person. Written release sheets and booking records go through the Sheriff’s records or public-information contacts.

For a documentary request, use the current form linked from the Sheriff Forms and FAQs page. Different questions belong to different custodians. Use the route that matches the event:

• For a released person or a written release record, begin with the Gonzales County release search and request path.
• For local probation, contact the 2nd 25th Judicial District CSCD at 830-672-6571. State parole questions follow the parole and probation routes.
• For people released during a defined day, use the request wording on the 24-hour release list page.
• For a future date or notification, compare the projected release date and VINELink check options.
• For an ISF discharge, contact the supervising CSCD and the court rather than the Sheriff’s jail line.
• For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmate-information and release-status channels.
• For federal or immigration custody, use the Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator and the responsible agency’s records process.
